Recycling of printed circuit boards (PCB)
Due to greater consumption of electronic products in the last decades we expect a higher amount of waste electronics and especially old printed circuit boards in the next years. Printed circuit boards (PCBs) consists of a great variety of elements of the periodic system. If we are able to recycle many of those substances we could reduce significantly the impact of raw material production on the environment and get more independent from the suplliers of these materials who are oftenly located in politically unstable regions of this world.
Research Objectives
The goal of our research is to obtain as much information as possible on the composition of the PCBs using methods of digital image processing.
Datasets
In the course of the project a multitude of images have been acquired. To facilitate further research a dataset for testing Bayer pattern interpolation algorithms can be found here and here.
