Biomedical Image and Data Analysis
Imaging provides the data; the finding only emerges from the analysis. The group processes microscopy and histology images quantitatively in order to study cell structures, their function and disease mechanisms, and develops learning methods for this purpose, from generative models for training data to segmentation and tracking over time.
The same methods carry beyond microscopy: into neuroinformatics, into artificial vision for retinal implants and into the analysis of behavioural data.
